SAN MIGUELITO SCHOOLS OPEN DOORS TO TEAMS

In July 2018, a global team from Faith Lutheran Church in Jefferson City, Missouri visited the Los Andes neighborhood in San Miguelito, Panama City, Panama.  The local secondary school was thrilled to have the team teach English, Christian songs, and Biblical values — and this is in a public school.

The link to the school came about because of the constant presence of Deacon Milton Castillo, our CALMS representative in Panama.  Milton kept visiting the school’s principal — just blocks from his congregation — and in a short period of time became the school’s de facto chaplain.

Pastor Hector was able to travel from Nicaragua to Panama City to connect with the team and share in the neighborhood ministry. The experience gave him ideas on how to expand his ministry to schools back home in Nicaragua — praise God!

The team from Faith has helped to open the door for ministry at another public school where the principal is now requesting teams of her own.  Teams are welcome to share their love and knowledge of Jesus as well as lessons in English.
